Bridget McGrath Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Bridget McGrath graduated as an RN from Westmoreland County Community College’s Nursing program May 6, 2010. She began working for Dr, Frank Costa in Monroeville the same week. On June 14, 2010 she dies in a tragic car accident. In the short six weeks that she practiced as an RN she loved nursing and her patients. She was going to continue her education to become a nurse practitioner. Bridget worked part to full time throughout her entire college career and continued to work a second job after graduation. Bridget’s heartfelt concern for other and her ever-present smile touched a multitude of people. It is the hope of her family that the recipient is able to continue what Bridget loved most about nursing which was a genuine concern for her patients.

• Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) results
• Must be a full-time Nursing student, enrolled and accepted into Westmoreland’s Nursing Program
• Must be in good academic standing and have a Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
• Must be employed in a part-time capacity
• Scholarship may be used for books and fees
