Robert Miner Family Foundation Opportunity Scholarship
The Robert Miner Family Foundation recently gave a $500,000 gift to Westmoreland County Community College. The purpose of this donation is to create new Opportunity Scholarships that help students in programs like healthcare professions, technology, and the skilled trades. These scholarships are meant to make college more affordable for students who might not qualify for enough financial aid but still face challenges paying for school.
Robert “Bob” Miner explained that he remembers how tough it was to afford college himself and wants to make it easier for today’s students. He also wants people to see the value in careers in the trades and health fields, which are in high demand and lead to good jobs. College leaders have said this gift will make a big difference by helping students like you step into the workforce with less debt and more opportunity.
